About The Stones

About Onyx & Selenite

Onyx is a striped semiprecious variety of Agate, with white, black, brown or red alternating bands.

Selenite is a translucent white stone with glowing striations, giving the stone a cat's eye appearance. Note that Selenite is a soft stone and should be protected from hard knocks and scratches. Do not wear it bathing or swimming. Clean only with a soft cloth.

Properties

Metaphysically, Onyx is believed to help eliminate negative thinking and sharpen the wits of the wearer. Onyx is used to balance the Root Chakra.

Selenite is named after the Greek Goddess of the moon, Selene. It's associated with both the crown and third eye chakras and is believed to promote mental purity and serenity.
